The greatness of a wine also pass through the traces left in the environment by its supply chain. Today, more than ever, we are adding by subtracting!
Thanks to the incomparable features of cork, Amorim decided to certificate the quantity of CO2 absorbed by some of its stoppers and the traces left by the supply chains.
Studies carried out by PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst&Young, in cooperation with Amorim Cork, show that a single natural wine stopper can retain between 300-600 grams of CO2 (depending on the type and size), allowing for a significant reduction in the environmental footprint of a wine bottle.
The cork stoppers Contri Spumanti S.p.A.buys from Amorim Cork achieve the highest BIO classification, guaranteeing they are made with truly renewable materials extracted from cork oaks that are never felled.
Following these studies, Contri Spumanti S.p.A. is one of the “green cellars” receiving by Amorim Cork a certificate establishing the quantity of CO2 absorbed by the cork stoppers bought during the year. The certification shows that, thanks to the compensation effect, the use of cork stopper mitigates the environmental impact of the supply chains in which they are involved.
Contri Spumanti S.p.A. cooperates in marking another important point in favour of sustainability and is pleased to announce it to its clients!
